How I Delayed a 747 Flight and Felt Horrible
It’s April 13, 2015. Flight KLM 611 from Amsterdam to Chicago is scheduled to depart at 12:40 pm. It’s not going to happen.
At that time, my wife and I decided to separate after 16 years of marriage. We both tried very hard to save the marriage, but it just didn’t work anymore.
Shortly after this decision, I met a girl in Constanta, Romania, and I fell in love with her.
That day, April 13, 2015, I was traveling from Bucharest to Chicago to meet with the CEO of a telecommunications company that was interested in my company’s drone program, AirStrato.
My flight from Bucharest made a stop in Amsterdam, where I was about to board a 747 for KLM flight 611 to Chicago.
While in the airport, I was messaging with the girl on Whatsapp. I had airport Wi-Fi. I was waiting to go through ticket control and board the plane through the mobile tunnel that connects the airport building to the plane.
We were texting like crazy while I was in line to go through ticket control. I told her I’m about to board the plane and I’m going to lose signal. No wifi on the plane.
